Tool Plant Jelcz Sp. z o.o. was created as an independent unit in December 2005. Its beginnings, however, date back as far as the 1960s, when it was until 2003, part of the Jelcz Automotive Company. It focused then on providing instruments and tools for Jelcz buses and lorries. Later it gradually diversified its scope of business and employed up to 200 people. A large part of this experienced staff is still at Jelcz, transferring it’s know-how to the younger generation of workers. In 2003, the tool division was acquired by Instytut Mechaniki Sp. z o.o. and transformed into an independent unit.
